We started the morning with my friends Eliza and her mommy Melanie, and our friend Myrna, at an elephant parade in Capitol Hill. A lady gave us hats for the occasion that were really uncomfortable.
The elephants stomped right through the street! They were much bigger than they look in my books at home.
After the parade, Mommy and I went for a walk on the Mall downtown. I took my Goldfish to see the Capitol!
Then we went to the Museum of Natural History, where I got to see butterflies. It didn't matter to me whether I was watching them through the peephole window...
...or using my trusty identification guide inside the exhibit. It was really cool.
I also really liked the bugs exhibit. They had a cool termite mound. Termites must love to play peek-a-boo, just like me.
